Tuesday, students will review the reason for the seasons. The video below summarizes it yet again if needed! The rest of the week, students will be exploring the moon phases. They will create models, posters, and diagrams to help them understand the reason for moon phases and familiarize themselves with the names. I've included a graphic of moon phases below if needed as well. Homework:
This week, students are finishing their study of force and motion! They will explore the 3rd law through some interactive demos on Monday. The rest of the week will be spent reviewing all three laws and real life examples using groupwork activities, demonstrations, etc. The quiz will be on Friday! Students will have a foldable to use for studying for the quiz! Please remind your child to study and do their homework. On the last quiz, several students were frustrated with their grades...however, they also confessed to not studying! Additionally, I cannot accept late work.
I am very proud of how far the student have come already with their groupwork! They are already developing skills that will help them in any team or group they work with. Some of them even sent me videos of inertia activities that they had done at home. The powerpoint slides for this week can be found at the end of last week's powerpoints. Homework: Monday: worksheet Tuesday: worksheet Wednesday: none Thursday: study for the quiz! Friday: none We have completed our Forces and Motion (Physics) mini unit. Now the students are beginning the Earth's Place in the Universe unit. To begin, the students will be focusing on the study of the sun - earth - moon system and how their interactions affect each other. Students will be creating various models to explore the rotation and revolution of each object, the reason for day and night, and the seasons. There is a quiz on Thursday. Students will have a one page study guide on Wednesday night to prepare. Please make sure your child studies for 30 minutes in a quiet environment free of electronics. Sport practices are not an excuse for not studying - and I hear that excuse for every quiz! Homework: Monday: Notebook page 68 - 71- be careful! There are two pages numbered 68 - do the one on Forces! Tuesday: Worksheet Wednesday: Study for quiz! Thursday: None Friday: None
Since this is the first quiz, I am posting the exit slip and study guide key on here in case anyone wants to check their answers. The students have the papers so they have the questions (I know they are hard to read on here!) - however, the answers are easy to read! The last question on the exit slip will not be on the quiz.
