Students will begin the week by taking the Interactive Student Notebook Quiz on all of the Cycle 3 material. This is not something they need to study for - they can use their notebook for all of it! Students will then review material on Tuesday and will have a study guide for Wednesday's quiz. They DO NEED TO STUDY for Wednesday's quiz. Please don't work ahead on this as often times, we will be working together on it in class. Students will not get an additional copy if they lose theirs, they will have to take a zero for the week on it.
Students are going to finish practicing solving single step equations, focusing on real life examples. They will have a quiz on the concept on Wednesday, with a study guide to prepare Tuesday night.
Thursday, the students will begin looking at inequalities. I have included examples below. Notice when open circles are used and when closed circles are used! Homework:
This week, students are continuing to work on solving single step equations. Since they mastered addition and subtraction equations, they will now move on to muliplication and division equations. Examples are below to help your child. Make sure that they show each step, even if they say they can do it in their head. Knowing the process will help them as the problems become more difficult.
