This week the students are practicing writing mathematical expressions from words and story problems (and vice versa). They will also practice making mathematical expressions from tables. This is often challenging but important for middle schoolers so we practice it all week!

We are finishing up operations with decimals! The quiz will be on Wednesday, December 13 and will be on all four operations with decimals. From then until break, we will be working on decimal operations within story problems and real life situations.
There is no homework over the holiday break. I hope students enjoy the time with friends and family! Week of December 11 Homework
Week of December 18 Homework
This week, the students will be practicing all four operations with decimals.
Homework
Prior to leaving for the Thanksgiving break, students will be practicing all four operations with fractions. The day they return, they will complete a study guide to prepare for the quiz on November 28. Wednesday and Thursday, we will be working on an extensive review for Friday's District Common Assessment. This assessment is important as not only does it count as a grade, but the results are also communicated to the administration. Students will be asking parents to sign a sheet confirming that they have studied Thursday night. Don't allow them to just stare at the paper - encourage them to rework problems.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving break! Homework - Week of November 20
