Monday, the students will be completing a "restaurant hop" using menus to calculate tips using percents. Tuesday, students will be completing a variety of holiday related problems (ex: finding the area of wrapping a box and using decimals to calculate money spent on gifts). This provides us with an opportunity to practice current content as well as review elementary content in real life scenarios.
Wednesday is the field trip! Thursday, the students will be analyzing their proficiency scores and correcting mistakes. They seem to value their performance much more when we take the time to truly discuss and break down our results. Homework:
Enjoy the holidays with family and friends!

Monday, the students will be taking the unit test on ratios and proportions. They have a study guide to prepare over the weekend - basically it is an alternate form of the test.
Tuesday, the students will take an Interactive Student Notebook Quiz in which they use their notebook to answer all the questions! If students are missing pages, they need to be copying them from a friend. The rest of the week will be dedicated to reteaching missed material from the diagnostic prior to the district profiency on Friday! Students will have a study guide to prepare for the proficiency on Thursday night. On the first proficiency, many students regretted not studying enough. Don't let them make the same mistake this time! Homework
I combined the 2 weeks together in to one post due to Thanksgiving break! I hope everyone enjoys their time with their family and friends!
