Students will be taking the second District Common Assessment on Monday and Tuesday! They completed the study guide Friday, March 9. We went SLOWLY over it in class, and they will be expected to study 30 minutes over the weekend. These assessment scores are recorded and submitted to the principal. They will be expected to turn in a slip on Monday confirming that they studied.

We are finishing Cycle 2 this week! Our final quiz for this Cycle will be on Wednesday, students will have a study guide to prepare Tuesday night. Wednesday, we will begin our new Cycle which introduces students to equations. Thursday we will finally finish our Map test!

This week the students are practicing writing mathematical expressions from words and story problems (and vice versa). They will also practice making mathematical expressions from tables. This is often challenging but important for middle schoolers so we practice it all week!

The students will begin the week by practicing more difficult order of operation problems. Thursday and Friday, the students will be in the computer lab doing the second round of MAP testing. Students complete the reading and math MAP tests 3 times a year to track their growth and progress.
